Did you prepare your own tax return last year? Did you overpay the IRS? Did you underpay the IRS and potentially owe back taxes, penalties and interest? Did you prepare all of the forms accurately? Are you at risk of an IRS audit? These are questions that many individuals ask themselves each year after filing their taxes. But there is a better way. Hire a CPA, a professional tax advisor, to prepare your federal 1040 and state returns.
As a CPA with over 30 years experience, Jeff Jackson is a tax professional with a long history of helping clients reduce their tax obligations via tax planning strategies. For many clients, the biggest tax savings strategy is documenting their legitimate, allowed tax deductions such as mileage, charitable deductions, and unreimbursed business expenses. The goal of individual income tax preparation is to reduce the total tax obligation, claim all deductions allowed under IRS code, and maximize the refund. The goal of individual tax planning is to reduce taxes in future years.
Not all taxpayers are the same and as such, the CPA firm offers three methods of preparing clients' tax returns to meet the clients needs and time constraints: Tax Appointment, Drop-Off, and Virtual.
Tax Appointment. Most clients schedule a tax appointment where we will review your prior year income tax returns in addition to your tax documents such as W-2s, 1099s, itemized deductions, child & dependent care expenses, rental properties, etc. Visits take 30 minutes to an hour. Upon conclusion of the appointment and receipt of your tax documents, firm personnel will prepare your federal 1040 and state returns. Tax returns are usually completed within 48 hours.
Drop-Off. Many clients and especially returning clients elect to use the drop-off service. With drop-off, you will complete a tax questionnaire and organize your tax documents. You'll call to schedule a time to drop-off your tax documents and bring them by at that time. Tax returns are usually completed within 48 hours.
Virtual. Clients who want the utmost convenience are increasingly using the virtual tax professional service. With the virtual tax service, clients will complete a tax questionnaire and send it along with their prior year tax returns and current year tax documents via fax, email, or the firm's secure portal. If there are any questions during the preparation, firm personnel will call or email you. That's it! For more information, see Virtual Tax Appointment.
Whether you select a tax appointment, the drop-off or virtual service, you''ll receive the same high-quality professional service. In addition, the firm offers free electronic filing of all individual tax returns. All clients can receive a paper copy or PDF copy for their records.
